Welcome to the Toyota 4WD Club of Victoria

We welcome all 4WDers, not just Toyota drivers

The Toyota 4WD Club of Victoria was Incorporated in 1995. It started with a small group of likeminded enthusiasts and has steadily grown into a medium sized club.

The club is affiliated with 4WD Victoria (previously the Victorian Association of Four Wheel Drive Clubs) and follows the Tread Lightly code of ethics

The club runs all kinds of events, ranging from social events, information nights, training days and weekend runs. We run driving trips for all skill levels, from novice to expert.

FWDV - URGENT NOTIFICATION OF TRACKS

We have been advised that there has been an unlawful major chemical dump of Arsenic contaminants on the Gibbs Access Track (Wombat State Forest).

This is deemed to be a life threatening situation which is being attended to by DSE as we speak.

We would ask people to keep clear of this area until further notice.

Please advise everybody of this urgent matter.

If you have any information in relation to this unlawful act, please contact us at Four Wheel Drive Victoria urgently.

Also:

We have received notification of a Track Closure in the Alpine National Park from Ranger Richard Laurier at Heyfield office.

The grid reference for Dairy Farm Flat Track near Castle Hill and South of the Pinnacles is: Easting 050360 Northing 5849800

The track closure is proposed due to it going through the centre of a damaged peat land that requires rehabilitation. The closure would not limit access to anywhere; apart from the track itself, as a ridge-top track not far to the East runs parallel to Dairy Farm Flat Track and links up to the same roads/tracks North and South of it.

We are still in the planning stage, we are seeking feedback in relation to this track closure, and we will inform you with further information as it comes to hand.

From The Presidents Desk

Hi to All.

I trust that everybody has had a safe and pleasurable festive season, and that lots of dusty miles have been added to your speedo’s.

I’m sure that you are all looking forward to the new years 4WD activities.

Just a reminder that we will be having a stand again this year at the Wandin 4WD show on Sunday 21st February. We are still looking for members to man our stand, and don’t forget that you can come on Saturday to set up the stand and camp overnight with a great feed available.

The Presidents Cup and the Club’s 15th Birthday this year is at the Caringal Scout Camp near Erica, and held between March 12th and 14th. Come along and enjoy the fun. The more folk that come along, the more fun to be had. Details inside the TUIT.

To help drivers comply with speed limits outside schools, the Victorian Government has published the dates that school speed limits apply. Note that these limits apply even if the school is closed. For this year, with the exception of public holidays and weekends, school speed limits will apply on ALL days (inclusive) in the following four school periods:

Wednesday, January 27th to Friday, March 26th.

Monday, April 12th to Friday, June 25th.

Monday, July 12th to Friday, September 17th.

Monday, October 4th to Friday, December 17th.

These limits apply whether the school is open or not.

** Note:This data is from the Herald-Sun, January 20th 2010. **

When we are out driving in the sticks, we may come across hoon drivers. 4WDV has an area on their website where these hoons may be dobbed in. This can be found under the 'Dob in a Hoon' button in the menu on the left or under the 'Downloads' section. Refer to: http://www.fwdvictoria.org.au/default0.asp

. This has been successful recently in the Wonongatta area.

Cheers for now from:

Lindsay Stronell
